BOOK A SURVEY
One of our moving experts will visit to chat through your requirements. We’ll create a moving strategy and identify any items that need extra-special care in transit. Then we’ll email you a quote within 24 hours.
BOOK THE MOVE
When you know your moving date, book it with us ASAP to ensure our team is available and your date is in our diary. We ideally ask for at least 14 days’ notice as our team gets booked quite quickly.
A day before the move, our skilled team will pack and load all of your possessions with care (if you have requested this service from us). We’re used to handling all sorts of weird and wonderful items and have the skills and tools to ensure everything moves safely and smoothly.
ON THE DAY
Our team will come at the time agreed and you can leave it all to us. We know moving can be stressful, so we will take care of it all while you tick off the last few bits off your moving checklist. And if there are any items you need placed in storage, we can do that too.

Moving Boxes and Materials
At your request, we can deliver all packing materials and boxes to make sure your belongings are packed neatly and safely. We offer a comprehensive range of packing materials and different sized boxes.
We recommend you take advantage of this service and leave your packing to our professionals. Remember, if your items are packed by our movers, they will be covered by our insurance.
DO YOU PROTECT MY FURNITURE WHEN YOU MOVE IT?
Don't worry; your belongings are safe with us. Our professionally-trained porters will wrap your furniture in our heavy-duty, padded moving blankets prior to transportation. We have numerous bespoke covers (for everything from American fridge-freezers and four-seater sofas to TVs) to ensure your possessions have the highest level of protection. We can also shrink-wrap many items for extra safety.
ARE YOU INSURED?
We are fully insured to offer a worry-free service.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY ITEMS ARE DAMAGED DURING THE MOVE?
Our insurance cover is recognised in the industry as second-to-none. Through our standard insurance cover, we will pay up to £40 per damaged item. We can advise you about extending this cover to fully insure all of your possessions against the unlikely event of damage.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY HOME IS DAMAGED DURING THE MOVE?
We will fix any cosmetic damage to walls, floors, and ceilings which occurs during the removal process. Structural damage, if not easily fixed, will be subcontracted through our insurance agent or a settlement will be arranged
DO YOU MOVE IN THE RAIN/SNOW? IF SO HOW DO YOU PROTECT MY ITEMS?
Yes, we operate in all non-severe weather conditions as long it is safe to do so. All items will be covered by storage pads or shrink-wrap as they exit your home and wiped dry as they enter the lorry or your new home.
DO YOU PROTECT MY HARDWOOD FLOORS, CARPET, OR TILES?
Once we arrive at your home, we will protect all of your hardwood, carpets and tile floors with our floor covers at no extra cost.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY ITEMS DON’T FIT ON ONE VAN?
Our surveyor will conduct an appraisal of your goods and estimate how many vans your move will need.
DO YOU PROVIDE FIXED RATE QUOTES?
We offer fixed rate quotes as well as hourly rate options for smaller moves.
CAN YOU MOVE PLANTS?
CAN YOU MOVE BOXES WITH NO LIDS ON THEM?
All boxes need to be covered. If no cover is available, we will ask you to re-pack. We offer a comprehensive packing service that is usually carried out the day before the big move.
DO YOU HIRE DAY LABOURERS OR DO YOU HAVE YOUR OWN EMPLOYEES?
Barker Stone removals use our own thoroughly-trained specialists. This means we can be 100% confident in the professionalism and training of our staff. The team members are polite, friendly and hard-working.
DO YOU HAVE ANY HIDDEN FEES?
We honour all quotes, provided and agreed upfront. We have no hidden fees and our prices are all inclusive. We clearly spell out when, and if, there are additional charges if, for example, you cannot get access to your new home.
WHAT FORM OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
We accept card payments, bank transfers or cash.
DO YOU MOVE PIANOS?
We move upright (spinet) or console pianos. Grand and baby grand pianos may be moved, but we will need to give you an on-site estimate first - just to make sure we can keep your piano safe and secure during the move.
WILL YOU DISASSEMBLE AND REASSEMBLE MY BED?
Our specialists will disassemble and reassemble all standard beds. We will assess custom-made beds and baby cribs to ensure we can move them with the necessary care and on time.
WHAT DON'T YOU MOVE?
